We live in a society full of inequity; if Black, Indigenous, Latino, LGBTQ and other people of color are constantly pushed down, not up, it's nearly impossible to achieve ones dreams and lead a fulfilling life.
Recognizing others' contributions, efforts, and existence can help them get through (already) tough times. Even when it may not be a tough day, your genuine support to a teammate, friend, family member or extended community member can go a long way in uplifting their spirits.
Along the way, don't forget to be kind to yourself while you're encouraging others. We're all on this life journey together. Allow yourself to fail, learn, be happy, and experience all the emotions life has to offer. Don't be afraid to ask for help.
